HOW TO STYLE THE BUMP WITH ROCK & ROLL

OUTFIT IDEAS | FASHION CLIFF NOTES

Last month I had the opportunity to work with the founders of

WellRoundedNY

and photographer,

Jonica Moore.

Myself and the bump were featured on a segment called Bump Envy!  - what would I wear???

I went with a sexy Rock & Roll approach.

This dress was something I picked up a few years ago when the Mullet dress made it's return.  It's funny how last year I was over it, but now it has a completely new shape with my expanding silhouette so it feels new to me. This tight number might even make a better maternity dress than non-maternity.

The black leather trim makes it edgy, especially with a bump. Paired with my new

Fiorintini + Baker

leather boots

I am ready to go to CBGBs. Oh wait - it's closed - Ill just stay home and put the Clash on instead. That way I can take naps in between dance sessions.

HOW TO STYLE THE BUMP IN STRIPES

OUTFIT IDEAS | FASHION CLIFF NOTES

JuJu's Boutique_ Stripe dress_ Maternity style_ Style the Bump_ Fall Fashion_ Je Ne Sais Quoi

When October began, I posted this dress decked out with Orange & Brown Accessories.  See outfit

here

. To switch things up and give this dress an entirely new look I simply changed the accessories. The bump accessory stays :)  On a warm day like we had in New York yesterday (hello 72 degrees!) this outfit would have been trés appropriate. For later this week, a cardigan, denim or leather jacket would provide the warmth needed on this sleeveless dress.

What's most fun about this outfit is the mix of materials & colors: Black & white Stripes with Blue tights and Diamond graphic print.

This infinity scarf lends itself to multiple shapes: Doubled, Long and as a Head scarf.  There are even more possibilities but I ran out of steam.

HELLO OCTOBER

OUTFIT IDEAS | FASHION CLIFF NOTES

Orange is October. I love this month. I love little miniature pumpkins and everything pumpkin flavor. I love that this outfit is almost a Halloween costume yet totally hip for any day. This black & white jersey dress is loose and comfortable rather your have a bump or not. The built in cape like feature adds a touch of sophistication to an otherwise simple dress.

While in Louisiana last week, I worked with manager/ stylist Jordan at JuJu's Boutique to come up with some new fall outfits (bump friendly ones of course)

In Louisiana and even in New York where Indian Summer is in effect, October can still bring warmish days. Arms can still be bare, but  brown leggings were added to make it more seasonal. Booties are still hot this year especially with short dresses. Then we threw on all this orange jewelry to make it official - HELLO OCTOBER.

FLOWER GIRL TRANSFORMER

The Versatile Lace Dress
Fashion Cliff Notes | Outfit Ideas

Wondering how to wear your bridemaid's dress again? (as a Halloween costume does not count)
First you need a cool bride like my friend Dana who gives you a color and then lets you find your own dress. The colors of her wedding were very romantic: Soft Peach, Pink and Sage. It was set in New Orleans which also adds an air of Romance, gothic of you will. Lace complimented this theme perfectly. Lace also is a great piece to have in your wardrobe right now - just see how it transforms into more looks. ... Oh. Also, I was a flower girl not a bridesmaid ;)
----HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY !!!!!!!!-----XOXOXO

After her October wedding in New Orleans, I transformed the Lace dress into a casual every day look with tights, boots and a sweatshirt more suitable for cooler New York autumn weather.

Then for another party look - add all grey accessories: belt, tights, and croc heels (whoa)

Oktoberfest Lovin

Lederhosen, Bavaria, Pilsner
Fashion Cliff Notes | Outfit Ideas

**Note - this Post is a Throwback from Fashion Cliff Notes - I only own one pair of Lederhosen ;)**

This comes back in due time for
Oktoberfest on September 21st, 2013. Ending October 6th

In honor of Oktober fest and perhaps the last warm day of the year, I wore my Lederhosen inspired shorts today.  A design from Hayden-Harnett, Lederhosen are traditional Bavarian work wear now mostly seen in German beer halls. While I was in Costume, I unfortunately did not have a stein of pilsner to go with it...but there is time.
