Bag of the Day: Never be Late for an Important Date

Anya Hindmarch bag designs are among my all time favorite.  This latest design is one of the reasons I love this brand: It's not afraid to step outside the box (or on it) and stick a clock on it.

Surrealist painter, Dali, made clocks iconic of the surrealist genre. While they were more melty and dreamy, it is still a bit surreal to see one on a handbag, as it takes you by surprise. Hence, it's quite the multifunctional accessory: it holds your tid-bits and tells time.

This minaudière is what we call in the handbag biz, A Social Bag. It's main purpose is to go to social affairs: dinner parties, galas, holiday parties, the opera, hot dates... you get it. At a social event one socializes, hence you need something to talk about. So when the awkward moment of silence inevitably arises, this is a perfect conversation piece.

Here is a real paper collage from my sketch book. A year ago I was obsessed with sticking a clock on a bag.
I had all of these cut outs of watches and sketches of bags with time pieces.  Now I've added the lovely Hindmarch bag.
