Fashion Note: Bag of the Day

Garage Art, Convertible, Psycho

On a shopping excursion yesterday in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I came across the most unique shop:
Scary Factory.
The artist and designer, Mr Thiphat Srichokul (or Mr. Best), runs his shop in what looks like a cool garage. If this has not been coined yet, I'm naming this style "Garage Art". Just like the "Garage Band of the 90s", it's artistic, home grown and the next big thing.

The faces and characters are creations of Mr. Best and are applied to bags, shirts, caps and more.

My favorite bag in Thailand thus far is the Orange messenger bag pictured above. The Scary character serves as an exterior pocket with a zipper top, and it is also removable with a detachable strap to become a small bag on it's own.

So it's like a Day and Night bag is one: Messenger bag by day

It reminds me of a post from Refinery 29 last week called "16 Kooky Bags" They totally forgot to include these!!!
Messenger bags and Back Packs

The shop itself is so cool and tempting. Most shops, restaurants and bars in Thailand are open with no front wall so they are immediately inviting. Though, Scary Factory has an allure that makes you want to see it close up.
There is even a coffee shop in Scary Factory. Here is Mr. Best standing behind the counter.
